Between "The Oprah Winfrey ""O" God: A Dialogue on Truth and Oprah's Spirituality" provides an in-depth look at one of the greatest media influences of all time: the empire of Oprah. Between "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "O Magazine," millions of people are exposed to Oprah's spiritual beliefs. Christians and those of other faiths are asking tough questions and looking for answers.

McDowell and Sterrett approach the spirituality of Oprah by means of a fictional narrative featuring conversation between two friends. The spiritual conversation begins when the two girls get together to discuss spiritual issues. By using stories to address the deeper issues raised in the spiritual conversations held by Oprah and her friends, McDowell and Sterrett disarm and entertain their readers while also revealing biblical truths and exposing the errant teachings and misconceptions of Oprah.

McDowell, a mega-bestselling Christian author and evangelist, teams up with Sterrett, a gifted writer and popular speaker, to broach a serious subject with a wise, balanced, easy-to-read approach. McDowell and Sterrett help readers to discern the truth about the spirituality of Oprah and her friends.

About the Author

Josh McDowell

Josh McDowell

While a college student in the early sixties, Josh McDowell was challenged by a group of Christian students to examine the claims of Christianity.

Josh was sure that Christianity was worthless, but accepted the challenge. He focused his energy on discrediting the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Instead, he discovered compelling historical evidence for the reliability of the New Testament and the Resurrection.

He was convinced intellectually, but he struggled with the idea of giving control of his life over to Jesus. One night, unable to sleep, Josh asked Christ to come into his life and forgive his sins.

In the months following that decision, Josh noticed a change in his life. The biggest area of change was in his relationship with his father – the town alcoholic. Josh’s hatred for him turned to love by the power of God at work in his life.

Soon after, he began speaking at churches and evangelistic meetings. In 1964, after going to Talbot Theological Seminary, Josh joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. His Campus Lecture Series began in 1970, and soon after Josh began publishing books and recording his talks on tape.

Today, Josh is a popular youth speaker, having spoken to more than seven million young people in 84 countries, including 700 university and college campuses. Josh has authored or co-authored 52 books. He also has a weekly radio and television show.

Josh and his wife, Dottie, have been married for more than twenty-five years and have four children. They live in Dallas, home of the Josh McDowell Ministry.

“Few individuals have had as wide an impact for the Christian faith on university audiences as Josh McDowell. He has unique ability to deal clearly and directly with . . . issues facing college students.”--Billy Graham

“Every time Josh speaks, hardened skeptics turn to Christ. His approach is both well reasoned and personable. His contribution to helping fulfill the Great Commission will continue to grow for decades to come.”--Bill Bright
